Outdoor statues and what you need to know
Cast Stone Statues and Efflorescence While metal and wood statues have their intrinsic value, the commonest material used in garden statues is stone. Stone statues last longer when compared with statues composed of other raw materials, and they also retain their merit even on aging. Cast stone statues, for instance, age naturally over time, by a process called efflorescence. This natural chemical reaction occurs when the statues are exposed to the elements, including weather changes, wind, and ground water absorption. Choosing statues with a patina finish, or letting statues age with time, can be very appealing to an ancient garden theme, and can also lend a well used, antiquated feel.
