Industrial steel buildings, a world to learn about

Quonset huts are basically the semi cylindrical metallic structure which are very light in weight. The structure looks like a semi circular sheet of iron or an alloy with iron as the base and is galvanized with Zinc so that it does not get corroded. This innovative product was first erected in a place called Quonset Point in Davisville, a village in Rhode Island. This explains the name of Quonset huts. The first customers of this structure were interestingly the US Navy which was looking for a supple and adaptable building structure to cater their immediate needs to harbor safely their arms, soldiers and other supplies during the Second World War.
