Protein is considered very necessary for the nails and hair coat of your dog. Without any doubt, the protein requirement of a dog totally depends on the activity level, health and age of the dog. If your dog is sick, then you should ask the vet and give more protein to your dog. If your dog is very active, then you should daily give him food containing 25 percent to 35 percent protein. For a normal dog, about 18 percent protein is enough.
